This project is in process, the goal is to restore the schoolhouse so that the property can be used by the community. The schoolhouse has been gifted to LARA and the land leased for 50 years. Fundraising to remove lead paint and restore the structure is under way.

This project is an economic development strategy designed to increase needed amenities as described by both cities and county government proposed to the county in 2018. 

The plan is to operate the Lucerne Hotel as a hospitality training campus operating a hotel, conference center and restaurant.
